¶ Overview
The XC-77 and XC-78 Plasma Casters are compact plasma weapons developed at Camp Jefferson. Both fire Plasma Cartridges, and both can be rebuilt at a Weapons Workbench into anything from a pistol to a sniper rifle, a scattergun or even a flamer.
¶ XC-77 Plasma Caster
¶ Where to Find It
The XC-77 is found during the Weapons Training section. After leaving the backstage area, the player will reach a room with a security Protectron, where the XC-77 is waiting to be collected.
¶ Base Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Ammo | Plasma Cartridge |
| Damage | 27 Physical, 27 Energy |
| Magazine Capacity | 20 |
| Weight | 3 |
| Value | 112 |
These are the values for the bare weapon. Every mod attached to it changes them, so the numbers on the player's own XC-77 will differ.
¶ Modifications
The XC-77 has its own full set of mods, available at any Weapons Workbench. Swapping the barrel and grip changes what kind of weapon it is: a Pistol Grip makes it a pistol, a stock makes it a rifle, the Automatic Barrels make it fully automatic, the Splitters fire a spread like a shotgun, and the Flamer Barrel turns it into a short-range flamer.

¶ XC-78 Plasma Caster
The XC-78 is an XC-77 carrying a unique legendary mod:
- Unstable - Targets killed explode doing 30 points area effect damage.
¶ Where to Find It
The XC-78 is sold at Challenge Token Machines for 300 Challenge Tokens. Only one is available, so players who want it will need to save their tokens.
¶ Stats
The XC-78 can turn up in different configurations. The one shown above came with a Standard Capacitor, Improved Extended Barrel, Recoil Compensating Stock, Foregrip and Short Scope:
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Ammo | Plasma Cartridge |
| Damage | 47 Physical, 47 Energy |
| Fire Rate | 33 |
| Range | 233 |
| Accuracy | 164 |
| Weight | 7.4 |
| Value | 701 |
The XC-78 takes all of the same mods as the XC-77, so it can be rebuilt at a Weapons Workbench without losing the Unstable effect.
