This quest starts after the player has had Jason Extract at least 78 mods.
Jason will task the player with retrieving a memory core from a combat robot on an Ecliptic ship.
The objective will lead the player to a derelict Ecliptic ship the player can dock with and board.
On the ship, the player will find it swarming with hostile aliens, and the crew all dead. When the player reaches the destroyed robot and takes its memory core, they will hear grav jumps outside and the objective will update to return the core to Jason.
On the way back to the ship, if the player looks out the cockpit window, they will see several Ecliptic ships hovering outside.
When the player undocks from the ship, they will be immediately forced into conversation with one of the Ecliptic vessels.
The player can try and talk their way out of a fight via Persuade (failure in the Persuade mini-game will trigger a fight). There are also a few background checks: if the player has Bouncer, Diplomat, or Space Scoundrel, they can talk down the Ecliptics immediately. Alternatively, if the player tries to explain themselves without Persuade, they will be given the opportunity to Bribe them for 3000 Credits.
The player can either talk them down, destroy them, or grav jump away - dealing with the Ecliptics is not required as part of the quest.
Once the player returns to Jason, he'll tell the player he is going to upgrade Buster. The player will then receive an objective to wait for Jason to upgrade Buster.
24 hours later, the objective will update telling the player to return to Jason.
Speaking to Jason will inform the player that Buster can now offer weapon services and will complete the quest.
From then on, Buster will offer Extraction, Installation, and Duplication services for weapons.
Weapon racks will be available near the mannequin and helm/pack racks for installing mods to or duplicating weapons.
After the player has had McClarence extract at least 140 total mods from items, the next quest will begin.
