This quest starts immediately after the previous unmarked quest Reunited.
The player will receive an objective to meet Torin at the space station Stardock.
At Stardock, which appears to be a mostly defunct space station with nothing but a robot and a bar, Torin explains what he believes happened to the player and his plan for making sure it doesn’t happen again: building a Fleet.
The player is then sent on a mission to retrieve a Fleet Control Node, which is designed to automatically coordinate multiple ships’ communications and grav drives to stay in sync with each other.
The player will receive an objective to head to Eridani III. After arriving, they will scan the planet, fight a small group of Watchtower Drones, and then land on the planet near a facility while Torin stays in orbit in his ship.
The player will find the entrance blocked by a large patch of ice, to which they’ll need to use a Skydrop to break into. Upon completing this, they’ll be met with an AI Mech that emerges from the ramp below the entrance and immediately begins attacking the player.
The AI Mechs are almost completely immune to handheld weapon fire until after their “shields” are taken down - usually by a giant explosive, like a Skydrop missile - which they just used the last one of. Torin will explain all this over comms while the player is fleeing from the AI Mech.
After Torin’s exposition, he will crash his ship into the AI Mech, destroying it, and leaving the player to believe Torin must be dead.
The player is then given the objective to procure the Fleet Control Node from inside the facility.
Inside the facility, the player will find nothing but robots and turrets guarding it. At two points, the player will find relatively simple button puzzles to proceed.
Eventually the player will reach a large underground hangar with a ship inside, with the objective pointing them inside of it. Inside the ship, the player will find the Fleet Control Node and be given the objective to return to Stardock.
As they exit the ship, Torin will be waiting for them as if nothing happened - an early clue to his secret background. The player will be given options to act surprised, and Torin promises to explain how he survives when they are back safely at Stardock.
As the conversation is wrapping up, an alert sounds and a computer voice announces that security measures were tripped and that it is powering up the AI Mech that is near the ship.
Torin tells the player to get to cover, while he puts together a plan to shut down the AI Mech.
Robots throughout the Hangar come to life attacking the player as they try to find somewhere to hide from the AI Mech. Torin reveals his plan to use the same weapon used against the player in the initial Watchtower encounter against the AI Mech.
The player will then need to hit 4 switches throughout the hangar to power the ship so its weapon can fire.
Upon hitting the 4th switch, Torin fires the weapon and the player’s screen fades to white.
When they awaken, Torin tells them the plan worked and that they were knocked out by the blast.
The quest will complete during the conversation, and the next quest will start.
If the player was reading all of the terminals and exploring, they can stumble upon a method to shut down the AI Mech via a locked terminal, bypassing the need for the 4 power switches and the blast that would knock them out; Torin will react appropriately if this alternate method is found.
